Materials:
Fabric
also: scissors, pencil

Start by cutting out 2 equal size squares, you can use whatever size you want, but I recommend at least 12in by 12in to make it functional.
To recycle, I used an old t-shirt to cut the fabric from.
Hem one side from each square by folding down the edges once or twice and sewing over it. Those will make the opening of the Tote Bag
TIP: use 2 different fabrics for each side to make it more interesting!
Step 1

Cut 2 equal length rectangles of fabric to make the straps.
You can make them as long as you want, but make sure that the width is at least twice how wide you actually want them to be.
Fold them in half and sew along the edge to make a tube.
TIP: you can also use ribbons if you don't want to sew the straps
Step 2

Turn the straps inside out so that the hem is invisible. You may have to use a pencil to help you!
Fold over the open edges and pin them down to the big squares from Step 1. Place the ends in equal distance on each square.
Now, you can sew the straps down
TIP: sew the straps down twice to make them more secure
Step 3

To finish the bag, lay both squares on top of each other so that the hemmed/pretty sides touch each other.
Then, you can pin down the edges and sew them up.
That's it!
Congrats on making a Tote Bag!!!
